History

Himilo University was founded in 2010 as a non-profit institution. Initially established as the Himilo Training Institute, it focused on providing training in business and health courses in Mogadishu, Somalia. Later, it was renamed Himilo College. In March 2015, Himilo College transitioned to Himilo University.

The founders of Himilo University had the vision and courage to establish an academic institution that would contribute significantly to the development of our nation. Guided by a strategic plan that reflects the institution’s future goals, Himilo University is committed to achieving excellence at all levels and becoming the nation’s premier university.
